This unincorporated Santa Cruz County town is located approximately 40 miles from the heart of San Jose. Located along the northern shore of Monterey Bay, Aptos provides a range of oceanside real estate. Whether you are looking for panoramic ocean views from the balcony of a row house, or walk down to Seacliff State Beach from your luxury oceanfront mansion, there you will find it in Aptos. Add in some amazing golf courses, great restaurants, and plenty of convenient shopping, and you have an amazing community to call home.
Although Aptos is located so close to the beach, there are plenty of beautiful parks away from the beach for residents to enjoy as well. Aptos Village Park is located near the center of town, and is a great place to gather with friends and family. The park is home to a variety of weekend music festivals, summer camps, and also an amazing wedding venue. If you prefer to enjoy the beach during your leisure time, there are plenty of options within a short drive. Aside from the aforementioned Seacliff State Beach, you can also head to Potbelly Beach and New Brighton State Beach.
After a day at the beach or a long work week, Aptos residents have plenty of choices when it comes to great local cuisine. Norma Jean’s Coffee, Persephoneworth, and Parish Publick House are all worth exploring.
One of the most popular features of Aptos is the Pacific Coast Highway 1 runs directly through the middle of town, which provides convenient access to CA Highway 17 (for San Jose commuters), and nearby Santa Cruz, California. In addition to being a 20-minute drive from Santa Cruz, Aptos residents have the option of riding the 91X Commuter Express, which makes it easy for college-aged kids to live at home in Aptos while attending school at UCSC.
